SERENDIPITOUS DISCOVERY

Serendipitous Discovery consists of a manifesto, a set of cards, and an introduction booklet. Download the materials for free or inquire about hosted workshops.

Originating from my graduation project research, I've deployed this prototype in diverse workshop settings. For instance, one session at Willem de Kooning Academie involved a large paper roll and various drawing and painting tools, encouraging collaborative creation.
The workshop started with a small introduction, then one automatic exercise. After that, everyone was free to draw or paint whatever they felt onto the paper. Continuing each others drawings, interacting with each other.

Another spontaneous workshop in Museumpark sparked organic interaction, drawing people in to explore the box and engage in conversations about its purpose and the joy of unrestricted creation. It started by bringing along the materials to hang out with my friends and draw together.
By allowing the people who are surrounding me to interact with us, the box and its contents, organic interaction and creation is sparked. In this setting, it becomes a conversation piece to connect with others and share interests and passions for creating without boundaries, as well as a starting point to create freely.

Individual sessions, conducted informally, embraced spontaneity, inviting artistic expression into intimate settings. For these sessions, I invited one friend to my house or to the park to draw together. We started with an automatic exercise, like drawing a continous line, passing each other the pen, and then we continued drawing and painting freely.
Explore the outcomes in my thesis, as this project remains ongoing. I'm available to host similar workshops for your event, festival, or gathering upon requests.
