Serendipitous Discovery is a manifesto and a working method with a focus on process over product. Developed to counteract perfectionist tendencies, it considers perfectionism a voice. A voice trained to oppress. Blocking creativity, inventiveness and drive. Perfectionism is a way of thinking about yourself. Developed over the span of a life. How can we unlearn perfectionist ways of thinking? 

Giving insight into an intuitive and automatic working method, the toolkit invites people to actively join in and participate. It includes cards with instructions, suggestions, and creative prompts to guide users during their creative process. The prompts on the cards are designed to be used individually or collaboratively, encouraging self-care, community building, and the overcoming of creative blocks.

Two layers, two paradoxical sides of feelings. Comfort, security and familiarity, versus the rough, inaccessible and the unknown. Discovery of Self is an attempt at capturing this duality of feelings with imagery, to let both sides exist, one next to the other. What happens if we start to accept both parts?

This zine is a portrayal of my research into my duality using the photographic documentation of two sites as metaphors.

Finding yourself by getting lost is a collection of images that document my exploration of the dérive as a design approach. This method involves purposefully drifting through urban space to explore a citys construction and the emotions it evokes.

Guy Debord defined the dérive as a mode of experimental behavior linked to the conditions of urban society: a technique of rapid passage through varied ambiances.
